Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani

CHAIRMAN
Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani, received his Bachelor in Economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia before subsequently earning a Master of Science in Human Resource Administration from the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA.

After a decade long stint with PETRONAS, Tan Sri entered the State Civil Service in 1998 as the Director of Human Resource Management in the Sarawak Chief Minister’s Department and served in various senior level capacities throughout a distinguished civil service career. Tan Sri was the Sarawak State Secretary from 2009 up to August 2019 and currently plays an active role as a member of the Boards in several Sarawak State agencies and statutory bodies.

Dato Christopher anak Adrian

DIRECTOR
An engineer by profession, Dato Christopher anak Adrian, received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa and later obtained his Masters of the same discipline in 1991 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA.

He served in Jabatan Kerja Raya HQ Sarawak from 1985 to 1996 before founding his own private design consulting firm, Jurutera TCS Sdn Bhd in 1996. In 2004 until 2013, he was appointed and served as a Councillor to the Sibu Municipal Council.

He is a member of the Institute of Engineers, Malaysia, and the Association of Consulting Engineers, Malaysia.

Datu Haji Abang Halmi Bin Ikhwan

DIRECTOR
Datu Haji Abang Halmi Bin Ikhwan holds an Honours Degree in Economics (Accounting) from University of Malaya and Master of Business Administration (Major in International Business Management) from Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.

He is currently the President of Dewan Usahawan Bumiputra Sarawak and was appointed to the National Economic Action Council in March, 2020. He is also a member of board for Baitulmal Sarawak and board committee for Bumiputera Participation, Sarawak Energy Berhad. His notable past appointments include board member for Malaysian Palm Oil Berhad and Majlis Kemahiran Pembangunan Malaysia.

He began his career in 1972 with Bank Negara Malaysia and then served with Sarawak Economic Development Corporation. In 1979, he joined Bintulu Development Authority and was promoted as the General Manager in 1983. He later assumed the position of Permanent Secretary to Ministry of Resource Planning, Sarawak from 1992 until 1996 and Permanent Secretary to Ministry of Rural and Land Development from 1996 to 2002.

Mr. Peter Chin Mui Khiong

DIRECTOR
Mr. Peter Chin Mui Khiong is a Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

He started his career with Hanafiah, Raslan and Mohamad, Kuching and has more than 35 years of professional experience in the areas of audit and business advisory services. He was a Partner of Ernst & Young from 1997 until his retirement in June 2015 and has served as the partner-in-charge of a number of companies listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, as well as private and quasi-government corporations, which include industries such as manufacturing, plantation, banking, construction, transportation, hotel, hospital, education, stockbroking, unit trust and government agencies.

Mr. Peter Chin currently sits on the boards of several prominent public listed companies namely Landmarks Berhad, Hubline Berhad and Supreme Consolidated Resources Berhad and Ibraco Berhad.

Mr. Awang Za'aba bin Awg Mahmud

DIRECTOR
Mr. Awang Za’aba bin Awg Mahmud was the former Chief Executive Officer of RAM Rating Services Berhad. He has more than three decades’ experience across full spectrum of functions and skills, having served more than a decade in senior management and appointed as RAM’s 1st Group Chief Compliance Officer. Through the years, he led multidisciplinary teams and advocated for policy and structural changes within RAM Group to promote productivity, transparency and governance.

He holds a Diploma in Actuarial Science from Institut Teknologi MARA (1989) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Ohio University (1994). He has completed a few executive programs throughout his career such as ICLIF-Ross Business Leadership Program in October 2012, MICG Pathway to a Governance Practitioner Programme in January to July 2019 and Oxford High Performance Leadership Programme in November 2019.

Datu Laura Lee Ngien Hion

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Datu Laura Lee was appointed as DBOS Chief Executive Officer on 1 August, 2022.

Prior to this, she had been involved in DBOS since its inception in 2017 as a non-executive director, participating actively in its deliberations and decisions. She thus has a solid familiarisation with DBOS’ mandate, its operations and its business model.

Datu Laura has extensive experience of over 30 years’ service in both the public and private sectors. She began her career as a credit officer in MBF Leasing Sdn Bhd before assuming the position of a planning and economic executive for a short span in Sarawak Shell Bhd.

Datu Laura spent almost 22 years in the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) where she served in various capacities , including as its General Manager. She was appointed in June, 2009 as the Deputy State Financial Secretary, Sarawak, and served a total of 9.5 years in that capacity.

Datu Laura built up a good career portfolio including numerous corporate exercises involving corporate and business restructuring, implementation of reporting and financial system and USD fund-raising exercises with international bankers, while in the State Financial Secretary’s Office, her responsibilities covered annual state budgetary allocations, compliance, finance and administration as well as spearheading Sarawak’s financial transformation.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA, Finance) and a Technology in Chemistry Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom.
