Appointment of New Chief Executive Officer of DBOS

The Board of Development Bank of Sarawak Berhad (“DBOS”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Datu Laura Lee Ngien Hion as the new Chief Executive Officer of DBOS with effect from 1 August 2022, succeeding Mr. Sim Kheng Boon who retired on 31 July 2022 after heavily being involved in the establishment and helming the State Bank since 2017. The Board would like to thank Mr Sim for his five years of excellent leadership in steering DBOS to materialise its vision and mission.

Datu Laura has served as a non-executive director since DBOS incorporation and was extensively involved during the inception and formation of DBOS as early as February 2017.

Datu Laura familiarity with DBOS’ operations and excellent track records, both in the corporate world and civil service, spanning over several decades in various senior-level capacities, including leading the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (“SEDC”) as the Corporation’s General Manager and as the Sarawak State’s Deputy Financial Secretary from 2009 to 2018 makes her the ideal leader to continue and build DBOS as the Bank enters its strong growth phase. Prior to joining SEDC, she was with MBF Leasing Sdn Bhd and Sarawak Shell Berhad.
